Gatherings that carry the mission

Since 2017, galas, award celebrations, community giving and vehicle giveaways have brought neighbors, mentors and supporters together for women and single parents.

Annual galas

Honoring mothers and community leaders

Our galas celebrate women and families and raise support for the program. Honorees have included a Mom of the Year, a Mom in Politics, a Business Mom of the Year and industry and partner awards.

2017
First annual gala
DNNC Steps to Success hosts its first annual gala and thanks the community for an outstanding turnout.
2018
Second annual gala
Held at the San Leandro Senior Center on November 1, with a program of award presentations. An etiquette class and a brunch at a local restaurant gave program participants a chance to practice their new manicure skills in the weeks around it.
2019
Gala and awards
Awards and recognition celebrated leadership in public service, nail education and motherhood.

Vehicle giveaways are among our proudest traditions. A reliable car helps a parent get to work, school and appointments. Local partners have helped make giveaways possible.
